Read Across America 2018

Please join us for Read Across America on Friday, March 2, 2018 to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday! Members of the Central New York Women's Bar Association will be reading to children in local schools next Friday, March 2nd.  Please sign up TODAY to read to a classroom of children!

We have partnered with two local schools to send our volunteer readers: 1) Main Street Early Education Program (205 S. Main Street, North Syracuse) and 2) VanDuyn Elementary School (401 Loomis Avenue, Syracuse).

The slots are each 30 minutes, but you may finish up earlier.  Please plan to arrive at the school at least 10 minutes early to allow time for parking and visitor sign-in procedures at the main office, as well as transit to the classroom.

You are welcome to bring your own book or use a book chosen by the teacher.  The CNYWBA will be donating money to the school's library or buying books chosen by the school librarian.  Remember that Read Across America is a celebration of Dr. Seuss, so Dr. Seuss books are encouraged (but not required)! For more information on Read Across America, check out:

Please use the following links to choose a school and a time – and you can choose more than one slot if are available.  If you cannot use the doodle poll, please reach out to me and I will be happy to let you know which time slots are still available.
