The program will address the many ways in which women attorneys are called on to advocate. Besides an ethics panel that will discuss the possible issues that may arise in our personal advocacy, the program will also include a panel of in-house attorneys and law firm attorneys who will discuss their efforts to diversify the profession through hiring decisions. The day will close with a panel of "notes to my younger self" where more experienced attorneys will share stories of things they have done - and wished they had done - to promote their careers as well as the careers of others. The keynote speaker is the CEO of a My Sister's Place, which has evolved from a grassroots task force and drop-in center into a cutting edge leader and resource in the field of domestic violence advocacy, shelter, and legal services and education and prevention.
Presenter Kristin Nicoll, Esq. is a CNYWBA member.
